    The Z590 Motherboards

They are essentially the best motherboards you could get, no doubt about it, however, they’re also quite expensive, and honestly, for your I5 11500, we wouldn’t recommend getting a Z590 simply because there’s really no need to. The I5 11500 can’t OVERCLOCK therefore you do not need a motherboard with overclocking capabilities like the Z590.

Instead, you want a motherboard that will provide stability and allow your system to run at 100% without an issue while not allowing overclocking (thus reducing price & improving the price/quality/features ratio since you don’t need to overclock.).

With that said, here’s what you are looking for:

    The B560 Motherboards

They are in our opinion, the perfect choice for the I5 11500, they don’t allow overclocking of the CPU, BUT they allow overclocking your RAM (which can now work with up to 3200Mhz with the I5 11500 + overclock) and its prices are always lower than the Z590’s prices thus it’s perfect for this CPU.

    The Z490 Motherboards

We generally don’t recommend anyone to get a Z490 motherboard because they were meant for the 10th gen CPUs, while they can still work with the 11th gen CPUs, they require a BIOS Update and they weren’t specifically made for them.

Either way, the Z490 are a solid choice if you needed to overclock while being on a budget as they will be a little bit cheaper than the Z590’s but since you’re going with the I5 11500 that’s not the case, as such we still suggest you go with a B560.

    FAQ

So overall, which motherboard chipset to go with for my I5 11500?

The B560 are the perfect choice for you as they allow you to overclock your memory & not your CPU which reduces the price of the motherboards quite a lot. Since the I5 11500 isn’t an unlocked CPU you don’t have the need for a motherboard that can overclock.

If I still want to go with a Z490 or Z590 is that okay?

Yes! that’s perfectly fine and they will still leave you 100% satisfied, the only downside is that you will be paying extra for the overclocking feature which you will not be able to use.
