1Is Borderlands 3 CPU intensive?
The i3-8100 and to a lesser extent the Ryzen 5 2600 can’t always keep minimums above 60, but they are certainly playable.
There’s no difference between the Ryzen 5 2600 and the Core i9-9900K at 1440p and 4K ultra. That’s because the bottleneck is almost entirely the GPU. The Core i9-9900K is 41 percent faster than the Ryzen 5 2600 at lower settings: at 1080p very low, it has a much more noticeable effect. At 1080p ultra and 11 percent at 1440p ultra, the difference narrows to 29 percent at 1080p ultra and 11 percent at 1440p ultra.

However, we did run into a situation where the game would crash out when running in full screen at lower than native resolutions, but we don’t expect this to be a problem for many people.
Then, we ran into an issue on a 21:9 display, where the cut scenes were rendered in an odd way, missing a large portion of the scene.

12Does Borderlands 3 run at 120fps?
Sure, it’s a year old game at this point, but don’t let that discourage you from returning or even starting it for the first time. I’d been playing Borderlands 3 on PC and started fresh on the Series X, and the results have been absolutely amazing. Not only has it been revealed that the frame rates are actually higher than I was playing on a Radeon RX 5700, but it also looks amazing.
Naturally, if you want 4K, you won’t be getting 120 FPS, but Borderlands 3 on the Series X is still rock solid. I’ve been playing through the entire campaign on the latest console, and haven’t had any issues with frame drops or anything janky. It’s a great first rate experience and one that I highly recommend.
Better yet, it’s also really cheap right now, with Amazon’s Super Deluxe Edition (which includes the first season pass) down to just $30.
